Creating A Resting Heart
In 1884 a mob crossed the border and lynched a fifteen-year-old Stó:lō boy. In 2023 a descendant of one of its leaders drove out to apologize. We were invited to witness the day, and we filmed it.

A documentary exploring the ongoing legacies of the 1884 lynching of Louie Sam, a 15-year-old Stó:lõ boy, and the continuing work of accountability, healing and reconciliation. The evening includes the screening and a post-film conversation and Q&A.
